Mr. Michaud focuses his practice on Fair Credit Reporting, Fair Debt Collection Practices and Unfair Trade Practices litigation. In this capacity, Mr. Michaud currently serves as lead counsel in several ongoing consumer protection cases involving national banks, mortgage servicers and credit reporting agencies, and has previously served in the same capacity in several successfully resolved cases.
Mr. Michaud secured reversal and remand from the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in a case involving dual-tracking, robo-signing and notably, the effectiveness of a liability shield between limited liability companies and series limited liability companies created within the structure of the parent LLC in Alphonse v. Arch Bay Holdings, LLC, No. 13-30154, 2013 WL 6490229 (5th Cir. Dec. 11, 2013).
